Bouillon

The town of Bouillon is among the most beautiful towns in the Ardennes and is best known for its medieval castle that towers beautifully over the town. The history of the city and castle are inextricably linked to that of Godfrey of Bouillon, the famous knight, who led the First Crusade to the Holy Land in 1096. You can visit the castle, and from its high towers, you have a great view of the Semois river and the lower parts of the city. You can also enjoy a show with birds of prey! In Bouillon, you can enjoy walks and visit the local brewery, for example. In fine weather, the many terraces entice you to take a well-earned break. There are also plenty of great places to enjoy good food and drinks.

The Giant’s Tomb

This piece of nature in the Ardennes is one of the most photographed spots in the Bouillon area. And that is no surprise, because it is a beautiful and unique sight to behold. 'Le Tombeau du Géant' owes its name to the unusual shape carved into the landscape by a spur of the Semois river. The river here seems to enclose a coffin of gigantic proportions.

Caves of Han

Accompanied by a guide, you enter the fascinating underground world to admire the cave's geological treasures. You walk through the cave's most beautiful halls and galleries. The river Lesse seems to play hide-and-seek, you will suddenly encounter it again here and there during the tour.

In the immense Armoury, some 110 metres underground, the world's most impressive underground sound and light spectacle awaits you. Let yourself be taken on a journey through the ages in search of the origins of the world… Included in the tour of the cave is admission to PrehistoHan, an exhibition on the thousands of years of history of the Earth and its inhabitants.

Don't forget to bring warm clothing for your visit to the cave.

Adapted visits are available for disabled visitors.

Han Wildlife Park

At the Domain of the Caves of Han, you can also visit a special Wildlife Park. On foot or by Safari car, you travel through 250 hectares of pure nature with amazing views and as many as 650 special animals. Here you can spot Europe's 'big five' in their natural habitat, namely the bison, wolf, brown bear, lynx and wolverine.

Rochefort

This small town is very welcoming to tourists. The town has preserved a Gallo-Roman villa where you can see what daily life was like some 2,000 years ago. Only ruins remain of the former Gravenkasteel, built in the 11th and 14th centuries. Still an impressive place. The abbey, which is not open to visitors, still brews beer. Another tradition maintained here is the preparation of various semi-hard and hard cheeses made from the milk of cows grazing in the Ardennes. Of particular note are the cheeses made according to the recipe handed down by the Trappists who previously lived in the area, the Rochefort Tradition. Rochefort aux algues d'Ouessant is also very special, matured in Rochefort and made with seaweed from Brittany's Ouessant.

Cave of Lorette-Rochefort

The Cave of Lorette-Rochefort was discovered in 1865 and created by the flow of the River Lomme. This cave is much wilder than other caves in the Ardennes such as the Caves of Han. The Lorette cave is a large and very complex cave that is only partly accessible to tourists. But that part is well worth it, and a visit to this cave is more affordable than visiting the more famous caves. Accompanied by a guide, you will take a walk of about an hour underground and visit the impressive Sabbath Hall, among other things. Much research is still being done in and around the Lorette cave. A film about the research and its results can be watched in the reception pavilion. But you can also go and see for yourself at the Val d'Enfer research laboratory.
