Burg Treis, also called Treisburg, is a castle ruin about 1 km south of the village centre of Treis. The perched ruins are located along a mountain path, approx. 70 m high and overlook the bed of the two streams Flaumbach and Dünnbach coming from the Hunsrück. It is easy to reach on foot or by car. The Wildburg is located to the south behind the Treisburg. It was built in the 13th or 14th century, most likely to defend the southern flank of the Treisburg.
