Estate Twickel

Twickel Castle, just outside Delden, is situated in the middle of a beautiful 4000-hectare estate. The estate, with its beautiful castle gardens, is definitely worth a visit! The varied landscape consists of gently sloping fields and meadows, forests and ancient oaks, heaths and fens. Streams and hedgerows meander between them. The estate contains about one hundred and fifty farms, recognisable by black and white shutters, and other buildings such as two water mills, the water tower and the sawmill. Culture and nature go hand in hand at Twickel.

Vineyard Hof van Twente

Roelof and Ilse Visscher started Vineyard Hof van Twente in 2000. With 5.5 hectares of land, the vineyard is one of the largest in the Netherlands. For the production of red, white and rosé wines, grapes are grown that thrive in the northern climate. On the estate of the Visscher family, the grapes are processed into Twente wines. In good weather, the wine terrace is open daily* from 11.00 to 17.00. Come have a look at the vineyard and enjoy yourself on the terrace at the Sueterie! * closed on Sundays

Diepenheim

Diepenheim - “Stedeke” in the green with art and culture

With almost 2,700 inhabitants, Diepenheim is the smallest town in Hof van Twente. Local residents affectionately call it “our Stedeke” (our little town). Art, culture and nature are inextricably linked here. In Diepenheim you will find a large number of galleries, museums, studios and stages together. The six castles in Diepenheim and the immediate vicinity are a feast for the eyes. Huis te Diepenheim, Warmelo Castle (where Prince Bernard's mother lived), the Nijenhuis and Westerflier houses, Weldam Castle and Wegdam Manor, all with associated, easily accessible estates, some of which have gardens that are also open to the public. Tip: Cycle the 6 castles route.
