Walking and cycling in Hollandse Duinen National Park (0 km)

Noordwijk lies within Hollandse Duinen National Park and on the Hollands Duin dune belt. It is an ideal nature reserve for a wonderful walk or bicycle ride. Hollands Duin offers woodland, dunes and history. The varied landscape of dense woodland, wide-open beaches and dune valleys is dotted with many sandy footpaths and paved cycle paths. Every season here has its own charm. A wealth of short and longer walking and cycling routes runs through the area. Whether you want to cycle from viewpoint to viewpoint, wander through the dunes, spot squirrels in a pine forest or learn about the area\'s history on foot, you can do it all here. Due to the differences in elevation, not every part of the area is wheelchair-friendly.

Cycling tour through the flowers (1 km)

The Hollandse Bloemenroute (Dutch Flower Route) is the perfect cycling route for seeing the spring or summer flowers in the Bollenstreek bulb-growing region. The full route covers 35 kilometres and takes you past the most beautiful flowers of the season. The nearest point on the route is 1 kilometre from the hotel, so you can also easily choose to cycle just part of the route. Along the way, you will pass various attractions, museums and monuments worth visiting, such as Keukenhof flower park, several bulb nurseries and De Zwarte Tulp Museum in Lisse. This is a wonderful way to discover the striking, colourful surroundings at your own pace.

Museum Noordwijk (1 km)

Pay a visit to this intimate museum in the centre of Noordwijk. Inside, you will find a lovely collection of historical objects that offer an insight into the history of Noordwijk. The two period rooms show how people lived in Noordwijk at the start of the 20th century. You can also view ceramics and pottery, a collection of paintings and a variety of sculptures by Noordwijk artists.

Atlantikwall Museum Noordwijk (2 km)

At the Atlantikwall Museum, you can see remains of the defensive line built by the Germans during the Second World War. The museum consists of a series of bunkers and a connecting tunnel system, giving you a vivid picture of life in the bunkers during the war. You can visit the fire-control bunker on your own, or book a guided tour of the tunnel. Even when the museum is closed, you can follow a walking route along the remains of the Atlantikwall.

At Museum Engelandvaarders, you can discover the remarkable stories of the Engelandvaarders. During the Second World War, they escaped from occupied Netherlands to fight Nazi Germany from England. The museum is housed in an ammunition bunker from the Second World War.

Space Expo (4 km)

Visit this entertaining space-travel museum, which boasts an impressive collection of genuine space objects, fascinating replicas and interactive elements. Among other highlights, the museum features full-scale models of the International Space Station and the Eagle lunar module.

Katwijk Aan Zee (7 km)

Katwijk is just a fifteen-minute drive from the hotel and may well be the most welcoming coastal town in the Netherlands. You can enjoy a wonderful walk across the expansive dunes or along the 4.5-kilometre beach. But you can also indulge in plenty of shopping behind the lively boulevard.
