The area boasts countless marked walking and cycling routes, allowing you to explore the countryside and enjoy the views and tranquillity. From Niederbronn-les-Bains, for example, you can follow a lovely walking route through the trees. This route takes you around the town along the edge of the forest, past many different species of trees.
St Martin’s Church (0 km)
Just a five-minute walk from the hotel, you’ll find this magnificent Catholic St Martin’s Church, built in 1886. The church is open to the public, and inside you can admire stunning murals inspired by Byzantine iconography.
Tour panoramique du Grand Wintersberg (8 km)
Enjoy the stunning views from the highest point of the Northern Vosges. At the summit stands a brick tower which is open to the public. From the roof of the tower, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding nature park. You can also enjoy wonderful walks in the densely wooded area around the tower. The tower is the starting point for many well-signposted walking routes. Please note: The tower is not accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.
House of Archaeology (1 km)
In Niederbronn-les-Bains, there is an impressive museum where you can explore the history of northern Alsace through a fascinating archaeological journey. At the House of Archaeology, you will find a comprehensive overview of archaeological research in northern Alsace, from prehistory to the industrial era.
German military cemetery (2 km)
This historic cemetery can be reached via a pleasant walk from the hotel. Although Niederbonn-les-Bains was largely spared the fighting of the Second World War, there was gunfire towards the end of the war. More than 15,000 fallen soldiers who fought for Germany are buried in the well-maintained cemetery.
MM Park (46 km)
North of Strasbourg lies MM Park, an impressive military museum. Here you can view an extensive collection of military vehicles, equipment, artefacts, weapons and uniforms from the Second World War. The collection of military vehicles is particularly impressive and includes some rare examples. An absolute highlight for history enthusiasts. The museum is spacious and therefore easily accessible for disabled visitors. The museum isn’t exactly around the corner from the hotel, but is certainly worth a visit. Chateau de Wasenbourg (11 km)
A magnificent castle ruin, surrounded by beautiful greenery. It's entirely possible to visit and admire it. The ruins have a long history, and you can find remains here from the Celtic, Roman and medieval periods. Behind the ruins, for example, you will find the remains of a Gallo-Roman temple dedicated to Mercury. In addition, the castle offers stunning views over the forests of the Northern Vosges. The surrounding area is ideal for combining your visit with a walk, for example along one of the marked walking routes near the castle.
